Moving to Birmingham and Scottish Songs Take Precedence for the Week.

We just got back from an exciting week in Austin. I had a great time once again performing at Sherwood Forest Faire, and I was super excited when Gwen and Kenzie came out for a few hours and joined me at faire. It was delightful. Gwen and I even had a nice lunch at the Italian restaurant there. How cool is that! And nice and tasty Italian restaurant at a Renaissance festival. I love this faire!

Now the trip home was not so much fun. It was a long day of driving. Nine hours in a car with a baby girl is deadly. She slept much of it, but then last two hours. Oy! Add to it a sleepless night, and let's just say, I think we'll avoid doing that again.

Back home, I'm gonna take most of this day off to work on other stuff, like cleaning up the kitty disaster and getting things in order for our move. We have  a place all lined up in Birmingham, Alabama. We just need to pack the house and go through the final stuff to make the move.

I'm still wondering though what I should do in the next month. It'd be nice to take off from work, but it's not realistic. I have a three shows planned for April. So I guess I'll try and pre-record a couple episodes of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. The Pub Songs Podcast will probably take a sporadic hiatus until we get to Alabama in May.

Then there's the recording. I really need to start work on Scottish Songs of Drinking and Rebellion if I'm gonna be able also finish my hobbit album  in time for GenCon, DragonCon and the Hobbit Gathering in Kentucky.

On April 1st, the Bedlam Bards and I reunite to finish recording the Firefly Drinking Songs album. That'll be one thing off my list. I'd love it if you'd join us at the Shindig.

Oh! And I still need to do some booking for June, July and August. Hmmm…

So I guess these are the goals for the coming week:

  • Pre-record Celtic podcast
  • Start mixing Scottish songs
  • Booking
  • Promote Firefly Drinking Songs Recording Shindig
  • Finish preparations for our move

That doesn't sound too crazy. I think I can do all that no prob. Time to get to work.
