Christmas Before Thanksgiving, Starbucks Red Coffee Cups

People are already talking about Christmas and it's not even Thanksgiving. We're just a week after Halloween. Should they? As a consumer, I believe so. You may not agree with me in today's episode.

For those of us who abhor the idea of joining the throngs of people on Black Friday, and being lured in by outrageous promises of stores dropping prices, being able to shop and get ready for Christmas ahead of time is such an awesome thing. In terms of marketing, I think that stores and chains do a great job gearing up for Black Friday, but it's still not something I want to participate in.

I also love Christmas music, so the pre-Christmas season helps get me in the mood and helps me market Celtic Christmas Music (which is almost mobile ready, by the way!). I'll probably only be doing one show for the Celtic Music Podcast this year, plus on for the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.

I think the Starbucks red coffee cups meme is dying down now, but it was dumb to be up in the first place. Very few Christians actually are boycotting Starbucks. Do you even care? And I'm curious if you even know anyone who regularly drinks Starbucks who is actually boycotting the holiday.
