Marc Weeklies: Now It’s Time to Go

I had a great time visiting the Texas Renaissance Festival and catching up with friends. I wandered all over that faire and played a few songs in the process, filled with a flood of wonderful memories performing there. I look forward to seeing it again, but not this year.

To quote my song, now it's time to go. Tomorrow, I leave for New Orleans. I haven't really had much time to think about the fact that I'm leaving Austin after 18 years.

Wow! Eighteen. Being the military brat that I was, I can't fathom how I stayed in one place so long. Yet, here I've been. Now it's time for some exciting new adventures recording more CDs and podcasts, collaborating with musicians (drop me a line if you're interested), fusing new styles, creating art, and making a ton of new friends in a new home. Let the journey begin!

This Week:

— Quote of the Week: “Justice is what love looks like in public.” Justin Dillon, Call+Response.

— CD of the Week: Poetry of Wonder by Arthur Hinds. I love “Pantheon”. Very cool song!

— Hear My Music on: Dave's Music Notes, I Still Get Demented Podcast Edition, ATC Pagan Information Network, Little Reds Writing Hood

Gaelic Songs on the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. Check out the Celtic Mini-Podcast special feature on Gaelic songs. I was hoping to do more such mini-podcasts, especially since the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast was nominated for the People's Choice Podcast Awards.

Vote DAILY for the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. The ICMP was nominated for the Podcast Awards. Now you can go every day to podcastawards.com and vote for my podcast from now until November 6th. The winner will be announced a couple weeks after that. Please help me to win. While you're there, vote for Irish Fireside, The Signal, and Buffy Between the Lines. Those are all podcasts that I listen to regularly. They deserve to win. So please vote every day.

Celtic Invasion of Italy. Like I said, people will drop out. Lost two already. But we still have a full lineup at present. If you are interested in getting on the waiting list. Email me.

SLAINTE!. In Irish Gaelic that means “Cheers” or “To Your Health”. What friendlier way to say that all the time when you pick up one of my new t-shirts. While you're checking out the swag, imagine your very own CD of music. What color is YOUR podcast?

— Tell A Friend. Please take a moment right now and email Marc Weeklies to a friend, or repost it in your blog. Or share your favorite song. Email it or add a link to one of my webpages. Then drop me a line below and say, “Hi!”

— UPCOMING GIGS.

Louisiana Renaissance Festival. As of now, it looks like the only show I have scheduled is at the Wine and Whiskey Tasting at Louisiana Renaissance Festival. A full-fledged stage show just didn't develop. So I'll have to create my own, I guess. I plan to play the lanes. Hopefully, once I'm out there, I can solidify a place and time to have a show. Look for me each morning and I'll let you know where I will be to share my music.

House Concert? Imagine fifteen of your best friends coming over to your home, eating, drinking and having a great time. Now imagine a rollicking sing-along as I guide you through the wonderful world of Celtic American music. That's a house concert. If you have a 10×10 foot room, you're ready to go!

— Check me out on Myspace, SoundClick, Demand a Show on Eventful, Wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook, Livejournal, Sonicbids, and DeviantArt. And if you'd like a CD…
