Marc Weeklies: Your Feedback Requested

I'm in the process of packing up my apartment to move to a new one here in New Orleans. I'm making good progress. I guess it helps that I didn't unpack my stuff when I moved here. The reason is that I only planned to live in NOLA for 6 months. A year and a half later…

The other big task I've been attacking is the task of keeping what I do relevant. I need to optimize my time for things that are well worth doing. That's where I need your feedback. Here are a few projects from which I need YOUR feedback.

1. Renaissance Festival Podcast. I restarted the show last week. It is now back on a weekly schedule. I now have interviews and I'm getting wee bits o'news and historical features as well. One change I made was I removed the end poem “The Faire Is Over.” It's been on the show since nearly the beginning. Should I put it back in? Go vote in the poll at renaissanefestivalmusic.com.

2. Irish & Celtic Music Podcast Celtic Top 5. I want to stay on a regular every other week production schedule, or possibly even every week. The problem is that I have to wait for enough votes before I can even thinki of doing the next show. So do I keep it and we accept that the show comes out once every 2-4 weeks? Or what would you think of compiling the top 5 every week three shows and then making a best of from those shows? Or do you have other ideas?

3. Marc Weeklies. My “Weeklies” have gotten progressively less weekly. I don't do a lot of blogging these days. I enjoy podcasting more. And with the rebirth of the Pub Songs Podcast, I find it almost easier to podcast a show. Do you read the Weeklies? I could put some of this info in podcast shownotes, so it would still be available. What's your thought?

Those are just a few of the things I'm wondering about right now. Please post your comments below.

Slainte!

Song of the Month: “Clementime Blues” by Marc Gunn
from Happy Songs of Death

This Week:

Quote of the Week: “April is the cruelest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain.” T.S. Elliot

CD of the Week: Procrastinators of the Apocalypse by Cirque du So What?. Four popular comedy music artists from The Dr. Demento Show teamed up and put out a non-musical album. The sketches on this album are sometimes witty, sometimes satirical, sometimes silly, and sometimes ridiculous, but they are always funny!

New Video: Wild Kitty Movie. I love it when people make videos using my music (hint, hint, hint). This one came off pretty nice in the storytelling. Cute actor too. 🙂

iMix of the Month: OMG St Patrick's Day Irish Music iMix. I know it's a St. Patrick's Day mix. I'll have a new one next month. In the meantime, please rate the mix.

ATTN: Sponsor Kilted For Her Pleasure! I desperately need your help raising money for my next CD. The album is called “Kilted For Her Pleasure”. It's an album of Celtic Comedy music. It's a brilliantly fun CD that's already received a ton of praise. Now you can help me release it AND get your name on the album AND get it long before anyone else does. Help by sponsoring it today!

Celtic Invasion Vacations of Ireland 2010!!!!. Details for the Celtic Invasion of Ireland are now online. The dates of this summer's invasion are July 19-26, 2010. We have space available. Join by May 15th and you'll save a bucket full of money.
