Philosophy Behind my Free Folk Music Downloads

I uploaded the Brobdingnagian Bards Celtic Folk music to MP3.com a few years ago. Now we're one of the top 10 bands there. Why? Free MP3s.

I found a nice formula that allows me to give away free MP3s and still sell albums and earn new fans. While the Major Labels will argue that CD sales are down, they don't realize that people today do not want to be force-fed music by a corporation. More and more people are wanting to think for themselves. And giving away some music pays off in the end. Why?

Though you may download several of my songs, I know that many will also by my albums or the albums of The Bards. It will pay for itself. And one day, when we hit the road, you'll come see us live. For that, I am willing to share some songs.

So once a month, I'm gonna try to post a free MP3 that you can download, and enjoy at your leisure. The songs may not be remotely related to the Celtic folk music that I perform with the Brobdingnagian Bards, but then again, it may.
