Newsletter: Who Are Marc Gunn Fans? Summer CD Sale

Greetings…

Hmm? I don't know what to call you.  I want a cool name for fans of Marc Gunn.  That's why I posted the question “Who Are Marc Gunn Fans?”  in my blog.  I want your suggestions.

Fans all over Twitter and Facebook piped up.  Here are some of my favorite responses:

  • Gunners
  • Gunnsters
  • Gunnobites
  • Gunnies as in “Gunnies never say die!”
  • Gunn slingers
  • Gunn Runners
  • Gunnites
  • Brownkilts
  • Celtkids
  • Daughter and Son of a Gunn

You can read the complete list here.  I definitely see a “Gunn” theme.

Soon, I will ask you to vote on your favorite fan club name.  But before I do, I'd like you to keep the suggestions coming.  Email me if you have one that isn't part of the complete list.

Here's a little food for thought. I have albums about hobbits, cats, Firefly, death, drinking songs, and kilts. Songs about Red Dwarf, Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Harry Potter, and Renaissance festivals.

Does that offer any bits of inspiration.

“Don’t Go Drinking With Hobbits” Sponsorships End on August 9th

I forget when I started planning to record an album of hobbit drinking songs.  It was at least three years ago.  This weekend, I wrap up recording the last few tracks for Don’t Go Drinking With Hobbits.

That means I will stop accepting sponsorships very soon.  In fact, August 9th is the last day that you will be able to pre-order the CD and get all the cool extras.  If you haven’t looked at those, check ‘em out.  I added a couple new ones last week for Guardians and above.  You can download early mixes of the CD!

Hobbit CD Official Release Date

Let’s see…  That gives me about three weeks to get the album printed in time for DragonCon.  I am planning Bilbo Baggins’ birthday as the official release date.  That is September 22nd if you were unsure.

If I can keep that schedule, that also means I’ll have it done for ALEP 2: There & Back Again.  I am getting giddy with excitement about ALEP 2.   Three years ago, we created something magical.  I can only imagine what is in store for this event.  As for me, I can’t wait to share my newest hobbit drinking songs.

Oh! And if you haven’t heard The Hobbit movie is scheduled to be released next year.  Excitement is swelling.  I go to TheOneRing.net daily to read the latest hobbit news.

That’s the hobbit news for now.  Sponsor the album before August 9th and stay tuned for more songs played each week in the Pub Songs Podcast.
