Just got back from TRF. It was a nice weekend. Our last show had gorgeous downpour. It was one of those magical moments where one side of the building had rain and the other was dry. Too cool!

A lot of wonderful inspiring people. I left each day with a wisp of inspiration and quiet reflection. Definitely a beautiful experience. Next weekend is Halloween. So it should be extra fun. Hmm... Maybe I should put together a costume...?

The Mouse & The Kiss
by Marc Gunn, October 23, 2004

I've been in a romantic poetry writing mood of recent. I wrote this late after performing at the Texas Renaissance Festival.

She glided beneath the stars
  Silent and serene
Like a ghost across the
  Field of wheat.
It glowed a dark yellow,
  Her skin a pale white.
She smiled as an owl
  Flew from the brush
A mouse squeeked beneath
  Her feet as she strode.

A man stood next to a rock
  Of bold granite.
It jutted out among
  The harvest.
His eyes, firm, looked out
  Through the night sky.
He heard the flutter
  Of a bird.
Soon a mouse squeeked beneath
  His feet as he waited.

An owl hooted as it flew
  Beneath a magnificent golden moon.
She pushed through the thrush
  And saw her man.
He looked up, smiled, and
  He embraced her.
Two long lost lovers finding
Their way home to each other's hearts.
The mouse climbed the granite rock
  As they kissed.
