Marc's Musings

Greetings <:firstname:>,

Well, Ireland is definitely delayed or cancelled. Not sure which. Kinda depends on Aer Lingus.

Turns out that early February just isn't going to work out. Sothat means I'm gonna try and reschedule the Ireland trip later in the spring. But that'll be dependent on whether I can work it into my work schedule.

Thankfully, the day job lasts for only another five months and 13 days. Or more specifically, you can check my Countdown for the exact number of days and hours.

VOTE FOR BARDS
Every year, the Austin Chronicle holds a Best Music Poll. People from around the globe vote in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll.
Last year, we were voted the #2 most-popular Folk band in Austin. This year, we hope to be #1. All it takes is for you to spend a few minutes filling out the poll. Again, ANYONE is allowed to vote. So please help us become #1 in Austin.

FEATURED ON EZFOLK
Oh, I forgot to mention that I was featured as Artist of the Week on the ezFolk website. The site was setup Richard Hefner who was once one of the top folk artists on MP3.com. He wanted to make it easy again to find great folk music online. And has created a great website to that end.

Thanks my friends. Feel free to drop me a line. Slainte!

Marc's Lyrics & Poetry

Love with a Language Barrier
by Marc Gunn, December 30, 2004

Spending time alone with a million beautiful people and things to see, I couldn't help but write love poetry inspired by bella Italia.

Cercando for l'amore
   without walls;
Love that is friendship
   and amore,
Passion and romance
Holding each other on Roman walls,
Hearing heartbeats
Like thunder in my ears
Drumming in ritmo with the world.

A piece of existence
Born and borne on the back
of a grey and white horse,
Racing across la pianura
Finding safety, security, and
   un po' pazza
   in blades of grass
   that grace her feet.

Give me a kiss
Beneath the brilliant
   blue skies del rinasciamento
And the Gothic sighs
   of angels
   weeping at the passing
   of a mystery.

Our pens scrive insieme
But kilometers apart
Ma they write...
They write the same worlds
   in different words.
Una lingua insieme
Un heart as one
Sotto the fading sun
Of una camera cold and and uncaring.

Happiness Is An Italian Cafe

There's really nothing like sitting out in an Italian cafe eating gelato and drinking capuccio and watching people walk by on a market day.
