Marc's Musings

Greetings <:firstname:>,

I did it!!! First goal reached. I'm almost there!

I've wanted to quit my day job for the past, oh, decade or so. I've lost track. Today, marks my ten-year anniversary working for the state of Texas.

Over the past few years I struggled to get out of debt and save some money, so I could make the switch to a full-time music career. When I realized it would take longer than I hoped, I set a goal that I would have ten-years of work with the state which would give me retirement with health benefits. Today, I reached that goal.

The next goal is to finish up the busy part of the year at work. Then, in five months--July 1st-- I start doing just music. Yay for me!

THANKS FOR VOTING IN THE MUSIC POLL!
Thank you all for voting in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll and for telling your friends. Judging from the response I received from fans, we will do well in the polls. The results are released in March during South By Southwest.

As a special thank you to everyone who voted and in recognition of Valentine's Day coming up, I have a special eBook that you can download for fr^ee called 101 Romantic Ideas (pdf 414k). If you're looking for some great ideas for Valentine's, you'll find someinspiration here.

CELTIC RADIO RULES!
Once again, I am on an internet radio listening kick. One of my favorite stations is Celtic Radio. I love this site because it's the only online Celtic radio station I know of where you can make song requests and have them played in the next hour. That rocks!

Head over there and make a request. You'll find music by me and the Brobdingnagian Bards. So make a couple song requests, help expose our music to the world, and be a part of quality Celtic programming.

---

Grazie and hug thanks for all your love and friendship. Let me hear from ye, slainte!
-Marc

Marc's Lyrics & Poetry

A New Year, A New Heart
by Marc Gunn, December 31, 2004

I made some wonderful friends that I'll always remember.

A new year, a new heart,
A new face,
Burned on my conscience
Like a gothic shadow of Mother Mary
On a piece of toast...
But tastier.
