Marc's Musings

Greetings <:firstname:>,

This past week was busy. I recorded much of the week. I recorded nine songs for thusfar for the Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers CD. So I am sorta halfway there except for the additional instruments I want to add. I have a number of musicians lined up to record.

Next, my friend April Porter is preparing my poetry book for publication. It is almost finished. The book is entitled Bello Filiocht: Heartfelt Poetry of an Italian Celtic Hopeful Romantic. The title means 'beautiful poetry' in Italian and Gaelic.

If all goes well, we'll finish it by the end of the month. You can preview some of the poetry by reading the poetry on my website.

The Dubliners' Tabby Cats Have a New Website

Yeah, some people actually think I'm a bit psycho about cats. It's not true!

Despite the fact that I made a website dedicated to The Dubliners' Tabby Cats which is the "band" performing on my cat CD. Well, at least I can say people are enjoying my slightly feline-centric band.

If you have any thoughts about what I should add to the website, I'd LOVE to hear them. I'm hoping to add a lot more feline band members in the near future.

The Joys of Working on a Computer

Sometimes I really love working on my computer. There really is nothing so delightful as having Torre walk sleepily walk in from the other room.

He stops at the right side of my chair and stares up at my lap for a moment. You can see him thinking, "Okay, gotta jump. I'm tired."

Up he leaps, circles, then finds a nice resting spot in my lap as I type. Now he's falling asleep with his head against my tummy. Who wouldn't love working on a computer like that? I think offices should allow you employees to bring their pets to work. That'd rock!

Drop me a line and let me know how you're doing. Slainte!

Marc's Lyrics & Poetry

Glancing Back in the Rear View Mirror
by Marc Gunn, February 11, 2005

Reflections on a pass date I remembered when I saw the woman again.

Glancing back in the
  rear view mirror,
Seeing beauty with a strawberry
  glow and golden hair;
Hints of reason
Made desires swollen
  in suptuous lips,
    Valentine cheeks,
And eyes that light up a
    room.
She has a way that
  connects the dots
  of an imperfect universe,
While I ponder two dots
That blossom and glow
Into anthems of motherly
    love.

Our eyes dart across darkened waters
And back to the serene
    silence
Overdue to two fish
Out of water,
Flopping around admidst circumstance
  and timing,
Like the photo album
in the hands of a four year old boy
Reaching, yet ever untouched
Longing for a simple cup of Joe
To press to her lips
While cars speed
  past with lights
  blinding an aroused
    imagination.

Italian Lady shows off her autographed copy of Soul of a Harper

A picture of Elivira, the sweet lass who was kinda enough to introduce me to The Light Spirits in Central Italy. She was very happy to receive a free copy of my Soul of a Harper. Last I heard, she was still listening to it non-stop.
