Singles Make Their Return to the Record Industry

#kids #dressup

I released two new singles this month. The first was “The Smial or the Tree“, a song inspired by Hobbits and elves. The second was “Silent Night“. Sales are slow so far. But the happiness factor is high. The wheels in my marketing brain are turning. I'm excited about releasing these singles, not because I expect to sell a lot. In all honesty I don't. I think most of my Gunn Runners seem to prefer albums. I'm excited because it just makes a little more sense for ME.

You see, I love creating music. I love recording and releasing music. It's the process I love as much as anything. I love to create something new that I can then promote and share with the world. It gets frustrating when I feel I have to wait to release a song on an album. I just want people to hear my songs, especially when it's new and exciting. I want to be heard. Releasing singles allows me the opportunity to create one small simple project at a time, and then promote until I'm ready to create the next small simple project.

I've recorded a LOT of music over the past few years. You've only heard a small sample–the stuff I released on actual CDs. There are a lot more songs that are done. I just haven't found an album to release them on yet. So while I build more of my thematic albums, I'm gonna keep recording and releasing new singles as I find something cool to release. If you like them, consider buying one. But know that they will eventually end up on a CD. The question is… when…

Oh! There is another reason why I like singles… I grew up listening to my mom's 45's. I just love the *idea* of singles.

One Final Note. If you want the singles but don't want to wait until the albums come out, then become a Patron of the Arts. I'm looking for folks who want to join the official fan club. You'll get a ton of cool gifts, plus, I'm gonna start posting some of these singles exclusively available for these fine patrons. Thank you for your generosity and support!
