St. Patrick’s Day Internet Music Festival Launches This Weekend

Last year, I had a cool idea. What if there was near, daily Celtic music that fans could watch leading up to St. Patrick's Day. Wouldn't that be amazing? So I started playing a few concerts, and then I emailed a few Celtic musicians to get more involvement. I was a little late getting to them so it was just me who released six short concerts on YouTube last year. I then pledged to start planning the event earlier.

I started in January. I emailed a bunch of Celtic artists and asked if they wanted to be a part of the St. Patrick's Day Internet Music Festival. I got numerous responses. Some yay, some nay. Some yay, but “I don't understand the technical requirements”. Some said, “I'll do my best to figure them out.” And they did. In all, I was able to book six additional artists for the festival.

This year, the live streaming Celtic music lineup includes:

I was hoping we might have concerts every day for a week leading up to St. Patrick's Day. Alas, I was unsuccessful in pulling that off. But there are a bunch of concerts planned as part of the St. Patrick's Day Internet Music Festival. Many of these concerts will also be available on our YouTube St. Patrick's Day music playlist after the events.

It's gonna be an awesome week of Celtic music and it all starts this Sunday 3PM EST with Burning Bridget Cleary. Then join me on Tuesday, March 9th for an opening ceremonies address and performance.

I hope you will join us and best of all, please help spread the word!
