A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I had enough music for two albums: one of Celtic geek comedy, and one of more ballady songs. I also said I didn't have a name for either album. That changed this weekend. On my drive to New Orleans, I named the second of those two albums. The albums is called Wherever I May Roam.
I confess I'm a wee bit worried about the title. It's not a great marketing title (though not a bad one either). Most of my albums are based on good to great marketing titles. This one definitely is not. It's a normal title. The name comes from my newest song of the same name. As I was reading the list of songs I plan to put on the CD, I realized it sort of captures the theme of many of those songs. Songs like “Sail the Sky”, “Come Take a Trip in My Airship”, “Purple Flower”, “When She Held Me in Her Arms” and even the Roger Miller cover, “King of the Road”. They all kind of fit that theme.
There's still a lot to do on this album. So more details will come.
As for the geek comedy CD, I'm still brainstorming ideas. Right now, I have two titles I'm thinking about:
- Sci Fi Drinking Songs
- Celtic Who
The first of those is the show name I've used at numerous Sci Fi cons quite successfully over the past couple years. It's a good marketing name. The later was suggested by wife since the album will feature “Doctor of Gallifrey”. I'm hesitant about it at present because there is only ONE Doctor Who song on it. But I do feel it's not all that encompassing so….
I'd love to hear your feedback. Post your comments and thoughts below.
I think the problem is that you need a whole album for Doctor Who songs!
