Although it’s not a comprehensive list, it sure is a good starting place! Take a peek at the offerings here and see if there’s something you may want to dive into—or subscribe to—there are plenty to choose from. It’s a list of 17—how very St. Patrick’s Day of us!
Celtic Music Magazine – this is our own online mag, and we’d like to think it’s a really good one! Hear about the latest music releases from wonderful independent Celtic music artists, keep up on the latest shows, get free music downloads, and more. This is a good place to keep up on Celtic musicians from all over. Don’t miss it!
Irish Music Magazine – keep tabs on traditional Irish music in today’s society with Irish Music Magazine. Stay abreast of upcoming tours, events, and festivals, and much more.
The Living Tradition – this magazine covers Scottish and Celtic music and dance. It has reviews, as well as information on live and recorded music and related events.
Treoir – this is the magazine of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann, a non-profit that is the largest group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. They have back issues available online.
Fiddler Magazine – this one is pretty self-explanatory! If you adore all things fiddle, this could be the publication for you! Geared for both those who play, and those who listen.
Irish America Magazine – this publication covers cultural, economic, political, and social issues that Irish in the U.S. may find of interest.
Celtic Life International Magazine – offerings range from history, to humor, to reviews, recipes, and events. Large in scope!
History Ireland – historical topics complete with visuals, such as photographs, maps and more.
GoldenPlec – this Irish music website has several issues of it’s magazine online that are definitely worth checking out.
The Thin Air – while you’ll need to be in Ireland to get physical copies of this magazine, they have a good online mag presence as well.
Is this music? – lovers of Scottish music will want to check this online magazine out for sure, featuring, “independent sounds from Scotland”.
SNACK Magazine – with a tagline like, “Made with enough love to burn suns”, who wouldn’t want to check out this independent monthly Scottish mag?
The Wee Review – Scottish magazine that features online arts and culture information and articles. Performing arts reviews and more.
Folk & Honey Magazine – this website has an online section titled, “Scotland Folk Magazine and News”. Dive on in!
Music News Scotland – an online publication that covers Scottish music news, as it’s title clearly suggests!
Chordblossom – for those who are interested in following music from Northern Ireland, this publication is for you.
Journal of Music – online Irish magazine that’s supported by the Arts Council. You’ll find reviews, news, opinion pieces and more here.
