I hate St Patrick's Day music playlists. Spotify has one. It is packed with non-Celtic music. Often non-Celtic bands. It makes my Celtic head spin in agony.
And yet… every playlist, every blog, or news article recycles the same 20 songs or bands to create the next “St Patrick's Day” music playlist.
This year, I'm trying something new. I want to share with you the ACTUAL great Celtic songs and tunes that you should listen to. In fact, I have a whole playlist… of sorts.
It's called the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.
Every year, I ask for listeners to vote for their favorite songs of the year. I then create an amazing show featuring all of those amazing bands. Here's some Irish and Celtic songs you should listen to for St Patrick's Day:
- “New Married Couple” by Matt & Shannon Heaton
- “The Peacock's Head” by The Here & Now
- “Again for Greenland” by Runa
- “Mazama Mornings” by The Gothard Sisters
- “Astral Hunt” by Kyle Gryphon
- “The Noodle Vendor /Sweetest Blooms / Avery's Mazurka” by ChildsPlay
- “Gwrello Glaw” by The Changing Room
- “Dawn Breaks” by We Banjo 3
- “Great Expectations” by Lisa Schettner
- “The Umbrella Reel, Two Days To Go, Down The Broom” by Kennedy's Kitchen
- “Kiss in the Morning Early” by Bellow Bridge
- “Bronwyn Leigh” by Syncopaths
- “One Of Us” by Heather Dale
