Every year, I take a small group of Celtic music fans to exotic locations around the world. We don’t travel in big tour buses and see everything. Instead, we stay in one area. We get to Know the region through its culture, history, and legends. Plus, I bring you some great Celtic music by me and other Celtic artists. The 2015 trip is now full. 1. Marc:

I just had to make a comment about your podcast # 202 Funny Irish songs. I LOVED it…one of your best….although you have never a bad one. I want to thank you for your efforts. Thanks

  2. Funny Irish songs??! How about tons of stuff by Gaelic Storm, “Don’t Go For the One,” “Darcy’s Donkey” or “What’s the Rumpus.” The Elders’ ‘Story of a Fish.” The Clancy Bros. “Jolly Tinker” or “Finnegan’s Wake.” Or “The Old Dun Cow”– I don’t know who’s recorded that one. Fun show, I’m sure you’ll get a lot of suggestions.

  3. Love this Podcast! Great to hear music I otherwise may not have access to. This one was particularly fun.

Had a suggestion for the next comedic show: Iris & Rose. They aren’t Celtic, but perform funny songs of various styles. They have their own version of at least 3 of the songs in this Podcast.

You were asking for ideas for funny tunes? I had to rush in a bunch of new music a few years ago when I was hired last minute to do a four hour St. Patrick’s Day concert. Below are some of the tunes I sang:

7 old ladies stuck in the lavatory
    Tim Finnegan
    Irish Rover
    Lord Nelson
    Seven Drunken Nights
    The Orange and the Green
    Men (written by Martin Mol)
    Moses Ri-Tooral-i-lay
    MacNamara’s Band
    M.T.A. song
    Courtin in the kitchen
Who threw the overalls in Mrs. Murphy’s chowder

Yeah Mark, these are moldy oldies but they still get a chuckle or two. Thanks for your podcast by the way and being an avenue for new music.
