The Atlanta area has a vibrant Celtic scene, and St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect time to take advantage of it!* There’s plenty to do in the area, but here we’ll just share a list of seven of them—just in case you haven’t already made plans. (And even if you have, you can always include one of these as well!)

Suwanee Beer Fest Chaser 5K
Not content to sit around and watch the day go by? Perhaps you’d be interested in a celebratory-style 5K? Before you shake your head, note that this one comes complete with beer stops if you so choose. The Suwanee Beer Fest Chaser 5K offers five 3 oz. beer stops from Georgia breweries along the way—as well as a beer at the finish line! (It’ll cost you $10 less if you just want to do the run and the finish line beer.) This event takes place on March 5th, so you can even burn some calories prior to St. Patrick’s Day indulgences!

Leprechaun Hunt
Although much of St. Patrick’s Day is 21+ themed, adults with small children (ages 3 to 4) can swing by the George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center at 55 Buford Hwy. in Suwanee to involve them in the fun as well! Kids can make crafts, eat treats and “search for gold and leprechauns” at this family-friendly event, taking place from 1 pm to 3 pm on March 11th. ($8; non-resident, $15.)

St. Patrick’s Parade
Do you love a parade? This holiday parade is one of the most popular of all! This year’s St. Patrick’s Parade will take place in Midtown, starting at 12 pm on March 12th. Head on over to Peachtree Street at 15th Street to join in the fun, and be sure to wear your green! Over 2,000 people are marching, dancing, or riding through the streets on this festive day to celebrate.

Atlanta Green Mile Block Party
Follow your parade viewing with a major bash, and attend the Atlanta Green Mile Block Party, taking place at 6 pm that same evening. More than 25 local spots are participating, and you can find everything from free admission to special Irish-themed drinks and food offerings. It should be quite the gathering! The location is officially at Tiki Tango at 57 13th Street NE, but many area bars and restaurants are on board for this fun-filled evening.

Marc Gunn at Ironshield Brewing
Get a taste of fresh European beer and pull up a chair to listen to our own Marc Gunn play authentic Irish music for the crowd from 7 pm to 10 pm on March 12th. Ironshield Brewing is located at 457 N Chestnut Street in Lawrenceville. You can preview all of their upcoming musical guests on the Events Tab of their website where you can also RSVP.

Marc Gunn at Three Taverns Brewery
You knew the Celtfather wouldn’t just be playing once during the St. Patrick’s Day run…right? Indeed, Marc will also be the featured musician at Three Taverns Brewery on March 13th. If you haven’t already been there, you’ll find this lovely spot at 121 New Street in Decatur. There are plenty of creative beverages to sample as you listen to Marc play from 4 pm to 7 pm.

Kegs and Eggs Brunch Block Party
Those who are 21 and over can keep the party going a bit longer by showing up for the Kegs and Eggs Brunch Block Party taking place from 11 am to 5 pm on the 19th of March. Hosted by Neighbor’s Pub at 752 N Highland Ave NE and surrounding bars and restaurants, this event promises to be tasty indeed! Green beer, mimosas, and some Irish-themed brunch items are all complimentary for those who purchase a ticket to the festivities.

Be sure to check out our links to learn more about any related fees or registrations related to the event you’ll be attending. No matter what you choose—enjoy your celebration!

*(Please be sure to double-check that events are taking place as scheduled closer to the date. Although cancellations are not expected, we can’t be responsible for any last-minute changes at a venue.)
