I was planning to board an airplane next week for my Celtic Invasion of Italy. That, of course, is not happening. So instead, my wife and I are looking for places to stay for the 2021 Celtic Invasion of Scotland!
Oooh! I can't wait. But first we have to get through some…
TOUGH TIMES
Writing music for the In the ‘Verse podcast is so empowering. It makes me feel like a halfway decent songwriter.
That's why I love “Tough Times”. That is the latest video I released on YouTube. It was the second song I wrote for the podcast. It showed me that I could write on command if I was brave enough to try.
“Tough Times” is based on the Firefly episode “The Train Job”. It's easy to look the other way when times are tough. But we have to stand strong. We have to do what's right. Be that social justice or just being nice to someone on social.
To paraphrase Bill & Ted as if they were in the Firefly universe, “Be shiny to one another.”
COOL CELTIC SUMMER WITH MAZZ
My latest Pub Songs Podcast is awesome. You'll enjoy me singing several fun songs, reciting a bit o'poetry from the pub, and talking about CDs and upcoming shows. But the best part of all is my interview with Mazz O'Flaherty.
Mazz owns Dingle Record Shop in Dingle, Ireland. I interviewed her in 2009 and again in 2019 on my Celtic Invasion of Dingle. She was as delightful as ever to share a wee bit o'craic with.
NEW TIME FOR COFFEE, BONUS SHOW THIS THURSDAY
May ends season 5 of Coffee with The Celtfather. It's time to kick off a new season with a new show time. You can join me this Wednesday at 11 AM EDT. Yes. That's just 30 minutes later than last season. But it could make a difference. I hope you'll join me on Facebook for this show.
I also have an internet concert planned for this Thursday at 8 PM EDT on both Facebook AND YouTube.
But it's not on my channel. The show is hosted by Andrew McKee's new project Life's A Faire.
The show is free to watch, but this one is a fundraiser for RCEAF (Renaissance Catastrophic Emergency Assistance Foundation). This non-profit was established to assist the workers of Renaissance Festivals and other entertainment events in times of catastrophic emergency crisis. I'm donating my tips to this organization during the show.
The show is broadcast a wee bit differently than most of my live shows. So look for me in the comments.
I can't wait to chat with you on Thursday!
Slainte!
Marc Gunn, The Celtfather
