CELTIC SOURCE – ARTHUR'S MYTH: DEATH, CAULDRONS AND THE HOLY GRAIL

  • The older Welsh myth of Arthur is often overshadowed, both by the obsession with the chivalric Arthur of medieval Europe, and then more recently by the search for the historical Arthur.
  • These subjects can be interesting in their own right, but they rarely ask the important questions: how did a Welsh figure become the centerpiece of an elaborate and profound mythology that’s still popular across the globe? What does this older Arthur embody? What ancient Celtic beliefs are preserved in his myth?

RETURN TO LONDON FESTIVAL OPENING NIGHT

  • THE Return to London Festival begins on Friday, October 25 with a gala performance from some of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians. One of the highlights of the evening will be a performance from Leitrim band Garadice
  • GARADICE emerged out of the Leitrim Equation Programme, a Leitrim Co. Council residency initiative focused on celebrating, promoting, and developing Leitrim artists. Named after an area in south Leitrim the band consists of four artists with strong Leitrim roots: Eleanor Shanley, Dave Sheridan, Padraig McGovern and John McCartin.

ISLE OF MAN'S FULL MOON FESTIVAL RETURNS WITH ‘END OF SUMMER PARTY'

  • The popular ‘Full Moon’ music festival is set to return this weekend in the form of an ‘End of Summer Party’.
  • The event will start at 12pm and finish at midnight on Saturday, September 28, and will feature a wide variety of acts, including some of those who performed at the original Full Moon festival back in June.

BELOVED CORNWALL ATTRACTION DAIRYLAND CLOSING FOR GOOD DUE TO ‘SIGNIFICANT' LOSSES

  • A beloved family attraction in Cornwall is closing its doors for good due to ‘significant' losses, causing heartbreak among generations of residents and visitors. Dairyland at Tresillian Barton, near Newquay, will close its doors in November.

2024 CELTIC CLASSIC FESTIVAL INFORMATION

  • The 37th Annual Celtic Classic is presented by Celtic Cultural Alliance, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the Celtic heritage through education, musical presentations, and traditional competitions in athletics, piping and dance.
  • The Celtic Classic takes place on the streets of Historic Downtown Bethlehem. Because of this vehicle access and on street parking is limited.  Please see our shuttle and parking information.
  • Some of the entertainment acts include Ally the Piper, Blackwater, Emish, No Irish Need Apply, Sheamus Kennedy, The Prodigals, & many more!
