I know. I know. You're bursting at the seams wondering, “Where is this week's episode of The Celtfather!? I'm dying to know what's new!”

Or more likely, you're thinking, “He has a new baby. I guess I'll wait.”

Whatever the case, I want you to know that The Celtfather podcast will be back as usual very soon. You should know by now that every now and then I like to shake things up and see what is working and what's not. Right now, I feel like the show has gotten a bit stale. I know part of that is that I've been overwhelmed with preparations for bringing home a baby. Part of it is a big change in how my day progresses.

You see, it used to be that I would drive Kenzie to daycare every Monday morning and I had five mornings a week to get work done. That changed at the beginning of this year. Now she's not going to daycare and Gwen is home too. I have to help out with Inara and also keep Kenzie entertained. So my Monday morning show has suffered. I decided what I need to make it rock is regularity… a habit, if you will.

Throughout my life, habits have not been a strong suit of mine. I have always flourished on mixing it up. Keeping things different. And avoiding routine. As I get older and I add more people to my family, routine and habits are a necessity.

So what can I do to make The Celtfather podcast more interesting and engaging?

How about a Celtic Music Spotlight!

Last year, I started the Celtic Music Spotlight as a video series on my YouTube account. Sadly, the series never took off and then I learned how much time it takes to edit and make a good video. Audio is SO much easier. Plus, I always felt the info I was sharing would work better as audio. So in the next podcast, I will launch my first audio Celtic Music Spotlight.

Now, I will point out, I have no plans at present of adding music to the show. It will still be wholly spoken word. So you will hear me talk about bands and possibly wonder, “I have no clue what this band sounds like.”

But I won't leave you high and dry. Instead, I will direct you to the appropriate link on the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast where you can actually listen to the band. I'd love your thoughts on this new feature when I role it out.

The other new feature of The Celtfather will be an occasional one. That is to start sharing brief audio glimpses of Celtic places around the world. I'm still working out the details of what might make this a feature that you would get excited to hear. So if you have any thoughts, please let me know.

The final bit of news I need to share is that I am one week away from flying to Ireland for my Celtic Invasion of Donegal. Once again, I plan to audio blog the journey and the exciting stuff that happens along the way. So if you're not currently subscribed, you better. Because you don't want to miss this incredible trip.
