Announcing New CD Title–“Not Every Day Is St. Patrick’s Day”

I am very pleased to announce that my next CD which I've previously promoted as “Celtic Music Is Freedom” is changing its name. It shall henceforth be known as Not Every Day Is St. Patrick's Day.

Let me start by saying, I love the old title. It was very appropriate for a number of reasons that I mentioned in earlier blogs. It is also a shameless marketing title. I know its true. It's one of the reasons why I love the title. One of the goals of the title was to capture certain keywords. It's search engine optimization (SEO) at its finest.

The old title also earned a wee bit o'controversy, because of its shamelessness. Because of the overuse of the term “freedom”.

Now I'm not against a little controversy.

But there comes a time in every man's life…

When he should listen to his wife.

Yes, Gwen was one of several folks who hated the title. It bugged her on many levels.

While I don't agree, I love her feedback. And I respect it. Anything that she loathes, I probably shouldn't use on one of my album covers…. so I'll save it for a side project instead. πŸ˜‰

Why “Not Every Day Is St. Patrick's Day”?

For starters, I need you to look at the title and tell me what my SEO keywords are. If you guessed “St. Patrick's Day”, you would be right!

However, that's not the only reason I decided to use this title. Gwen and I came up with it while lying in bed one evening several months ago. I was throwing out album titles. This one came to us and we both looked at each other and though. Yes! Awesome!

The SEO aspect was just icing on the cake. It's cool because it's actually the reverse of shameless. I have way too many albums with “drinking songs” in the title. This one is not just about St. Patrick's Day party music. It's about great traditional Celtic songs. It's fun! The title is too.

And I love it contrasted with Anna Cylkowski's photo. I used the same as with the old album title. Cold colors. Blue and gray. With a little laugh on my face. It took me a moment. But when I saw it again with that title, I knew it was a great title. Best yet, it goes better alongside such awesome CD titles as Happy Songs of Death, Kilted For Her Pleasure, Don't Go Drinking With Hobbits, What Color Is Your Dragon?, Whiskers in the Jar, and of course, Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers.

For as much as I love to search engine optimization and marketing, I'm pretty dang proud of my CD titles. They're not run of the mill. They're just awesome! πŸ™‚
