I got an email today from someone in Belgium who showed another bit of synchronicity between cats and drinking in Dutch:

Maybe I do not consider it as crazy, because in my language there is a connection between cats and drinking. Believe it or not, but we use the same word to indicate a hangover and … a tomcat. The word is KATER (pronounce the a a bit like i).

I love finding out stuff like that.
