…will May flowers see the beginning of new CDs from Marc Gunn?
While I've been working on some other projects for a couple of weeks, including a couple of little dresses for my girls, some other sewing projects, and a little bit of writing here and there, Spring is beginning to bloom (after a late cold spell), and the music plays on… always!
What's up with Marc?
Last weekend was Marc's first at the Georgia Renaissance Festival! The festival runs from April 13 to June 2, so if you can, be sure to go. Marc is performing regularly each weekend except May 18-19.
Kickstarter!!
You were here to top with charts with Not Every Day is St. Patrick's Day. You joined the kickstarter fun and are now awaiting your Celtophilia tee shirt. NOW help our very own Marc Gunn kickstart his next CD – Scottish Songs of Drinking & Rebellion. Only two days in to the kickstarter and the goal is nearly met! It's been an amazing response so far! But that doesn't mean that your chances to chip in and support this project are limited–quite the contrary! If the first goal is met, there is the possibility that Marc might be able to put out a second CD, hire more musicians for a bigger sound, or go all out to promote the album. So head over to check out the details and throw your support (and as much money as you choose!) behind Marc and great indie Celtic music!
And as I write, this is the 257th Anniversary of the Battle of Culloden–Scottish rebellion indeed. You can read about the battle, which marked the definitive defeat of the Scottish clans by the English, on the National Trust for Scotland's Culloden Project web site.
Stay Tuned…
This is a short post from me, but do stay tuned for some new features. I'll be writing again soon to focus in on some of the sites of this year's Celtic Invasion Vacations (including Inverness, the location of the Culloden Battlefield Visitor Center), and also to spotlight a different Celtic band or musician each week. So check back soon, and if you have some other special features you'd like to see on the blog, post a comment and let me know! I love suggestions!
