I just got the news. The Brobdingnagian Bards are officially NOT booked for DragonCon 2008. This is very disappointing news to me. I love going to DragonCon. It is one of those highlights that I always look forward to every year. Knowing that we don't get to entertain all of my fellow geeks out there makes me sad. It was a pleasure.
That said, I am still going to DragonCon. Currently, I am booked on a podcast marketing panel. I was also invited to bring “Captain Black Jack” Murphy, Pirate Extraordinaire to the Pirate Party on Saturday night. As soon as I hear a confirmation about that I will let you know. But I think it's fairly solid.
I gotta admit a part of me is rather excited about this opportunity. I loved doing the shows in the filk room, on the Concourse and in the auditoriums. I had many brilliant times. But not having those solid shows means that I might be able to see more of the Con. I'm thinking about spending more time in the Hilton catching some podcast panels, visiting more tracks to play some of our genre-specific filks, and I'm throwing the idea around about doing a room concert or several (if anyone is interested).
Will Andrew be there? I don't know just yet. Tomorrow, we're gonna talk about it and see if we can make it financially feasible for a group. But right now, I just don't know.
Meantime, bookmark my website. I will have more news about DragonCon coming soon.
