I read some interesting blogs over the past few days.  Artists like Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman are organizing tours using fan funding sites like Kickstarter.

I started fan funding my music back in 2004.  The Brobdingnagian Bards' album Memories of Middle Earth was funded entirely by Nagians.  However, I never thought of a practical way to apply this idea to touring.  I still use eventful to help me determine where the Gunn Runners around the world live.   But touring?

I don't have the fame and clout of Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman.  However, this might be a way for me to finally tour to locations that are normally out of my way, like Dallas, Seattle, New York, Chicago, and Kansas City (my top 5 eventful demands).

What do you think of this idea?
Would you be willing to fund a tour to your area?
Do you know others in your area who would be willing to do the same?
Have you made a demand on eventful yet?

If this seems like a good idea, I will organize a couple short tours in 2012 or 2013.  But I do need your feedback.
