- THE former Irish Ambassador in London and Washington, Dan Mulhall, is backing a new children’s entertainment venture rooted in Irish folklore, the Carlichauns, 21st century leprechauns that hail from Carlingford in County Louth.
- The Carlichauns team has been boosted afterbeing joined by kids’ animation hitmaker Keith Chapman, creator of mega series Bob the Builder and Paw Patrol.
CELT IN A TWIST: AUGUST 25, 2024
- Punk Celts, Firkin from Budapest, decided to give limericks rest. Instead the present to you, an impossibly heavy haiku. The Mollys serve up a Song Of Liberty, something for Finny McConnell's birthday, Davie Simmons tributes the lost at Culloden Field and The Once channel Queen. UK'S FIRST DRONE MAIL SERVICE EXTENDED IN ORKNEY

- The UK's first commercial drone mail service, in Orkney, is to be extended to 2026, it has been announced.
-
- The Orkney I-Port operation was launched by Royal Mail and drone firm Skyports in August last year.
- The electric drones take letters and parcels between islands, where staff then complete their usual delivery routes.
SPACEPORT CORNWALL PLANS TO MAKE CORNWALL EUROPE’S PREMIER FUTURE AIR AND SPACE SOLUTION
- Spaceport Cornwall has set its sights on becoming Europe’s premier destination for future air and space solutions, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wholeship Ltd. The agreement, which also includes Cornwall Airport Newquay, aims to create a unique operational environment that combines the expertise and facilities of all three sites, propelling Cornwall to the forefront of aviation and space technology.
KANSAS CITY IRISH FEST 2024
- Dedicated to promoting the culture, music, character and history of Ireland and of the Irish people who call Kansas City home. Kansas City Irish Fest offers attendees the chance to see some of the top Irish entertainment in the world. But there’s so much more to do here beyond listening to music! After all, we’re here to bring the heart of Ireland to the Heart of America, and that means everything from Irish culture to shops, beverages, food and activities using Irish themes and traditions.
