BRONZE AGE BURIAL SITE FOUND UNDER POPULAR CARDIFF PARK

  • During an archaeological dig under a popular Cardiff park in 2022, a roundhouse that dates back to around 1500 BC was discovered. It was an amazing discovery and is believed to be the oldest house at Cardiff.
  • Last year's dig focused on excavating around the roundhouses to find out how people lived 3,500 years ago. You can read more here. Now, on its fourth dig volunteers have unearthed a Bronze Age burial site, just underneath a popular playing field in Cardiff.

BAND WINS TOP TROPHY FOR SECOND YEAR RUNNING AT CONTEST IN CORNWALL

  • CAMBORNE Town Band under conductor Gareth Churcher triumphed once again at the West of England Bandmen’s Festival.
  • The band lifted the Royal Trophy in the championship section at the festival, also known as the Bugle Band Contest, for the second year running.

OHIO SCOTTISH GAMES & CELTIC FESTIVAL

  • The Ohio Scottish Games and Celtic Festival is held on the 4th Saturday every June.
  • The Games runs under The Scottish American Cultural Society of Ohio, Inc (SACSO).
  • Established in 1977, this long standing event is presented by members of The Ohio Scottish American Cultural Society of Ohio, an organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of their proud Scottish Heritage and ancestry.
  • The Ohio Scottish Games and Celtic Festival highlights the traditional dance, music and athletics of the ancient highland games while celebrating the cultural of the Celtic nations. This event is for the enjoyment of all Scots and friends as well as to introduce the Scottish Arts and traditions to the community.
