SARAH BOLGER TO STAR IN IRISH-AMERICAN CRIME SERIES FROM THE CREATOR OF NARCOS – Ireland
- IRISH actress Sarah Bolger is to star in a new Irish-American crime series from Narcos creator Chris Brancato.
- The Westies is described as a gritty and kinetic crime drama that centres on New York City's infamously violent Irish gang of the same name.
- According to Variety, 34-year-old Bolger will star as IRA operative Bridget Walsh.
- She will link up with Oscar winner JK Simmons, who will lead the cast as crime boss Eamonn Sweeney.

STATUE OF KING ORRY APPROVED BY THE PLANNING COMMITTEE – ISLE OF MAN
- It was recommended for refusal due to an archaeological survey not being carried out
- A plan to have an illuminated statue of King Orry in St John’s has been granted planning approval.
- It was recommended for refusal by the planning officer on the basis that Tynwald is ‘about the collective’ and that ‘prioritising’ a statue of one figure ‘deviates’ from that.
CHARITY APPEAL TO SAVE PREHISTORIC RITUAL SITE – Cornwall
- Cornwall Heritage Trust has launched a fundraising appeal to rescue and secure the future of a “unique prehistoric ritual site”.
- The charity said it hoped to raise £50,000 towards the acquisition of Castilly Henge, just off the A30 near Bodmin.
- Castilly Henge is a substantial oval earthwork, with an external bank and internal ditch, which the trust said would have formed an amphitheatre-like settings for gatherings and ritual activities.
Iowa Irish Fest
- Iowa Irish Fest is dedicated to celebrating Irish culture in Iowa and takes place in the Lincoln Park area of downtown Waterloo.
- The festival began in 2006 and has since grown into the biggest Irish celebration in Iowa. The Cedar Valley Irish Cultural Association, founder of the Iowa Irish Fest, is an organization intended to foster and develop Irish fellowship and outreach into the community with Irish cultural events and programs.
