Celtic Music Magazine: Celtic Protest Songs, Who’ll Stand With Us

Céad Míle Fáilte

Hello to all our readers, it is Todd once again. In this issue we have a new episode of our own Irish & Celtic Music Podcast where sixteen artists remind us that protest songs aren't history — they're a mirror. Dropkick Murphys, Wild Colonial Bhoys, Medusa's Wake, House of Hamill and more. From Diggers of 1649 to Bloody Sunday 1972, to Minneapolis 2026. Some songs don't age. They just find new reasons to matter. The other podcasts we showcase are Ireland Crimes and Mysteries & Copperplate Podcast. We have included a list of new albums. The articles we spotlight are about a music wall at the Dublin airport, the FLAMM arts festival, and an exhibition about the Isle of Man underground. The featured festival is St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival, taking place March 15 – 16, with a Whiskey tasting on March 13. It takes place at Francis Field in St. Augustine, FL. We hope you enjoy this issue. Until next time, Sláinte mhaith!

Highlights range from a clay sculpture of jackdaws, a reference to the local legend of the Bodmin jail inmate Rose Wright, imprisoned after supposedly training birds to steal coins, to a sound installation on a railway platform featuring an eerie conversation between two train workers.
