MINISTER ANNOUNCES €1M FUNDING POT FOR LGBTI+ ORGANISATIONS IN RURAL COMMUNITIES IN IRELAND

  • FUNDING of nearly €1million has been announced today to support LGBTI+ projects across Ireland.
  • Some 25 projects will receive amounts up to €100,000 to support their work under the 2023 LGBTI+ Community Services Funding Call, Ireland’s Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman has confirmed.

BEST FISH AND CHIP SHOP IN SCOTLAND CROWNED WITH VISITORS CALLING IT ‘UNREAL'

  • A Scottish fish and chip shop has been crowned the best in the country at a nationwide award ceremony.
  • The Trawler, situated in the Highlands village of Golspie, received the award for Best Fish and Chip in Scotland at the 2023 national Grand Final of Scotlands Business Awards. The ceremony, held on Sunday evening at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, saw previously announced regional winners across the country compete for the top prize.

  • Cornwall is home to some of the most beautiful, scenic towns and villages in the country. It’s no secret that we are envied by holidaymakers and tourists who flock to the shores every summer – and think ‘I wish' or ‘someday'.

TRANS WOMEN COULD BE COUNTED AS WOMEN IN SENEDD ELECTIONS

  • Transgender women could be counted as women under plans for future gender-equal Senedd elections.
  • Welsh Labour and Plaid Cymru want to make political parties draw up equal lists of men and women candidates.
  • Draft legislation, leaked by a campaign group, suggests the lists of women could include candidates who are planning gender reassignment.
