I was listening to Folk on Foot this morning. I love this podcast because it very much fits into my chosen profession. It’s about music in relation to the land. I'm a musician. My college degree was in cultural geography. It's like the perfect podcast for me.

Any case, the latest episode talks about broadsheets in Birmingham, UK.

Broadsheets were a type of newspaper. It was a popular format in the 17th century for sharing music, as well as news. It was the early predecessor to the newspapers that we know today.

I’ve long been fascinated by musical broadsheets. I tried printing some a while back as my newsletter. But it never really came together.

Would you even be interested in receiving one?

What makes this special? And why?

How do make I financially feasible and not just whimsical fun?

The first question can only be answered by you. As for what makes it special, I realize I have song lyrics and sheet music that I don't publicly publish. It would be so much easier in fact that downloading and printing for you if you just got it in the mail.

As for financial feasibility, well, perhaps some might consider upping their patronage for a super special monthly newsletter that arrived in the mail? Maybe…

I like doing special things for patrons. So I am gonna publish my first Broadsheet and send it to my Superhero patrons ($25+ pledges) for now. This will be my test audience to see if this is something that I can easily do on a monthly basis.

The lyrics that I will send out are for my newest song, “Stormtroopers Wasting Time”. I wrote it for the In the ‘Verse podcast that comes out this Saturday. It just seems like a fun way to share something new.
I'll start here and see what happens with this idea.
