Dragon Con is just under a week away. I feel like I have barely mentioned a thing about it. That's odd considering this is one of my routinely biggest shows of the year. There are lots of reason for this.
First, let me say I am excited. Yes, apprehensive too. But super excited. The virtual convention just doesn't compare to actually being there and interacting with you. I love it.
The fact is I'm nervous. The Covid cases continue to rise. Georgia may be better off than some states. But it's still near the bottom of the list of people who are getting infected and hospitalized.
Happily, I am vaccinated. I will wear a mask at all times at the con (which is now required by the convention). I plan to pass on all hugs at the con. I'm gonna keep my distance and do my best to be safe and healthy. After all, my daughters are still unvaccinated.
But the fact is that I will be interacting with people. There is a risk. That sucks.
There was also a small part of me that's been wondering if Dragon Con would cancel at the last minute. But it looks like everything is a go.
Now that said, Dragon Con is capping the attendance to 42,000 people. I think that's half of what it usually is. That's number it was in 2004 or 2005.
So needless to say, this will be an interesting convention.
WHERE CAN YOU FIND US?
We have a booth. We are once again back in the Marriott. That's not my favorite place to be. But hopefully, we will have a good location. That gets lots of SEE traffic, without too close traffic
We're prolly gonna have limited table time. So my suggestion is to come early. Right now, I'm guessing we will open the table at 9 AM and close it up at about 2 PM. That means, you should plan to buy CDs and merch at shows if you can't make those times.
Speaking of shows, we have a FULL SHOW SCHEDULE. You can see it here.
A lot of the shows will have capped attendance as well so arrive early. And come hang out with me.
Hopefully, I'll have blogs, videos, or podcasts to share with you both during the con and afterward. I can't wait to share a Hugely Successful event with lots of safety for all.
I'll just keep hoping for that. 🙂
