Great CD Release Parties in Louisiana

This weekend was a Great success! Two fantastic shows in Louisiana and some time to spend in New Orleans. How can you go wrong with that?

The Friday night house concert was fun. It rained that evening, but a lot of friends from the Louisiana Renaissance Festival showed up despite the rain. I've been working on some new arrangements with a touch of jazz and blues for a lot of my songs, and I got to highlight some of those along with the traditional songs and of course cat songs.

Afterward, I gathered most everyone up and we recorded a raucous background chorus for my new song “Monahan's Mudders Milk“. I'm gonna try and take all these recordings and mix them together for this week's MarcSongs Podcast.

Yesterday's show at the Saltwater Grill in New Orleans was fantastic. Two reporters showed up for the show alongside a bunch of cat lovers and Celts and even a few walk ins who ended up buying CDs. In all, we raised $160 for the LASPCA. The first set was almost all cat songs. The second was filled with more Irish music and the time just whiskered by. I can't wait to hear the recordings.

A HUGE thanks to Jamie for making this weekend a brilliant success!
