SCOTLAND REPURPOSES OLD NUCLEAR PLANT FOR MOROCCO-UK MARINE XLINKS PROJECT
- Rabat – Scottish Enterprise, a public agency, pledged £9 million (MAD 113 million) to repurpose a former nuclear plant, Hunterston, to manufacture the high-voltage £1.4 billion (MAD 17 billion) cable for Xlink’s green power project that is set to power the UK grid with solar and wind energy from Southern Morocco.
- The factory is expected to generate 900 permanent jobs, according to a report from The Energyst on Monday.

- Celebrating amazing foodie businesses, including everything from bistros to gastro-pubs to takeaways, is the main highlight of the Good Food Awards. In this year's celebrations, plenty of Welsh businesses have been recognised including fish and chip shops, restaurants, and pubs.
WORK ON NEW £900K SEA WALL IN DOUGLAS TO START IN THE NEW YEAR
- A £900,000 project to build a concrete sea wall along Douglas Promenade to protect against flooding is set to begin in January.
- The Department of Infrastructure plans to begin construction of the 1.2m (4ft) high structure along a 500m (0.3 mile) section of the walkway.
- Work between Douglas War Memorial and an area opposite the Empress Hotel is expected to be completed by September.
