Jack emailed a photo: “Hi Marc—I’ve been a fan since you were playing DragonCon in the basement of the Hyatt, and been listening to the podcast since at least Episode 6.
A few years ago I was listening while scanning in 19,000 slides my father had taken over his lifetime, but I finished that.
I live right on the Silver Comet Trail, and now I listen to the podcast while racking up the miles on a bicycle.
There’s a photo below, though the speedometer says zero because you don’t take a good picture from a moving bicycle.
Thanks for the podcast, and special thanks for the Running Music episode #470. That one upped my speed by about half a mile per hour.”
Emanuel Nervo emailed: “Hello Marc, Thank you for your e-mails and invitations. The time I became more aware of celtic music was via Loreena McKennitt. Her music helped me with some emotional stuff when I was an adolescent.
Then I get to know musicians from the netherlands (were I live) and Belgium who played Folk music and Powerfolk… then came the dances and I was hooked for life. although I dance less then I would like and should do either 🙂
I’ve been friends with a singer-song writer Peter Habets for a long time. His Powerfolk band was called Matzko. They played their own written music but also some irish music.
I enjoy your podcast. Most of the music is unknown for me and some are obviously known. I don’t have a particular band that I like. For sure i Like bands such as The Dubliners, Clannad, the chieftains. there are of course non-irish bands that I like too that are made and played by Folk bands.
I have been to the festival Castlefest several times (keukenhof, Lisse, Netherlands) and there are such lovely bands there too.
Kind regards from Heeze, Netherlands (NB)”

Hey Marc,
Clandestine was the band that really turned me on to Celtic music. The miner’s lullaby is hauntingly beautiful. I believe that is from their album released in 1999, entitled To Anyone At All. It’s out of print according to their current website. Fantastic vocals from the two ladies who were in the band at the time.
The Bush Reels
Black Eyed Susan
Peggy
The Telfer Jigs
Babylon
A World Turned Upside Down
Waltzes
The Tidy Cottage
Back to Chico
Lonesome Heaven
The New Reels
Miner’s Lullaby
Can’t wait to get back to Ireland. Would be great to be able to travel with your group.
Thanks for all the great music. I listen when I can.
Mike Kane
Yeah. I LOVE Clandestine. They were amazing.
