WELCOME TO CELTIC MUSIC

* Helping you celebrate Celtic culture through music. I am Marc Gunn. I’m a musician and podcaster. I share my love of Irish and Celtic music from around the globe with you. I want to introduce you to some amazing Celtic bands and musicians.

The artists in this show need your support which you can do by buying their music or telling a friend about the band you found. You can find a link to all of the artists, along with show times and chapters for each song when you visit our website at celticmusicpodcast.com. You can also support this podcast on Patreon.

VOTE IN THE CELTIC TOP 20 FOR 2022
This is our way of finding the best songs and artists each year. You can vote for as many songs and tunes that inspire you in each episode. Your vote helps me create next year's Best Celtic music of 2022 episode.  Vote Now!

I’m changing things up this year. There will now be a poll available for you to vote in the Celtic Top 20. It’s super simple. You just need to click the song and artists that you love. However, you will need to be a Patron of the Podcast to cast a vote. And you will also have only two weeks to do so. The most – popular songs and tunes will be added to a Spotify playlist that will be updated every week.

My hope is to help promote these amazing Celtic bands and musicians on the largest streaming music platform out there.

ARE YOU A MUSICIAN WITH A STORY TO SHARE?
I’m looking for some good stories to share on our companion podcast. Pub Songs & Stories is a Virtual Public House for musicians to share the stories and inspiration behind their music. If you have a story that you’d like to share about a song, from a gig, or maybe even just a piece of Celtic history that you love. Drop me an email. Put “Pub Story” in the show subject. Tell me about your story. Maybe I’ll ask you to record your story for the show.

THANK YOU PATRONS OF THE PODCAST!

Danny emailed: “dear Marc First off thank you for all you do for Irish and Celtic independent musicians. I have been featured myself a couple of times with my old band Gaelic Fury but I have since been playing as Danny’s Gone Rogue or simply Danny McDade where I do vocals (with the help of a harmony pedal) play guitar, rack a harmonica and play the Bodhran with a reverse drum kick.  But I wanted to say i listen to you in my improvised gym in the basement shared by my son.  We call it the YMCA Young McDade’s Covid Avoidance Gym.  Thanks and hope you have a happy Christmas.”

Karen Mitchell Carothers replied on Facebook: “I usually listen at work, so the podcast is helping fly satellites at NASA.”

Jenny Trevor replied: “I listen at work when clients and attorneys have me stressed out”

Craig Winterburn replied: “I cycle canals. Canals built by the navies.”

Allen Hughes replied: “Driving in my car.”

Ben Phillion posted a picture on Facebook: “Here I am stopped at the local dump waiting for my turn and who pops up but a top valley fiddler. I have been listening for years  –  so it’s great to finally see his name pop up!”
