It's been a long week. Over the past few days, Gwen and I patiently waited with baited breath for Kenzie to get better from her heart surgery last Monday. She has slowly improved each day. They started feeding her two days ago, which was a huge triumph. Then they found that she was accumulating a lot of fluid in her left lung. So yesterday, they stopped feeding her and added another tube to help drain the lung.

Today, Kenzie is doing even better. She's not only feeding, but begging for more. That's awesome to hear! She even started smiling and playing a wee bit in the bed. Now back to waiting to bring her home.
