I think I first picked up this Lancer Autoharp in 2000, my second year performing at Excalibur Fantasy Faire. As I walked around the festival, a vendor approached me and said he had a Lancer Autoharp. At the time, I had only heard of this instrument from The Autoharp Book by Becky Blackley.
The instrument was first released in 1967-1968 alongside it's Cutlass brother. It has a solid-body with one pickup and twenty-one chords. It was the first model to introduce the interchangeable chord bars and a plastic chord bar cover. Later models made the instrument much lighter than the one I got.
Well, the vendor needed money, and I was excited about owning one of these mystical instruments. So I bought it.
I spent the next ten years ignoring the instrument as I focused on bettering my own musical skill. Later, I added pickups to all my autoharps making the Lancer unnecessary for me… But it still looks cool as hell!
SOLD!
So that's that. Now it's time to sell the instrument.
