Listen: It’s a Celtic Halloween!

I hoped to finish the latest Pub Songs & Stories before I emailed you. Alas, it’s not quite done. But you’re subscribed to the podcast, right?

Good. Then you’re all ready for my next Celtic Halloween episode. I share a ghost story I wrote. It has a great chorus:

I’ll drink from dusk til dawn
I’ll drink a toast to day’s end.
Yes. I’ll drink from dusk til dawn
I’ll drink to the health of me friends.

Okay. It's also a great drinking song. But just wait til you hear “I’ll Drink From Dusk Til Dawn”. Or as some of you might call it, “Johnny at the Door”.

You’ll find out why I changed the name in the podcast. Plus you find out if Death can stop Johnny from grabbing a drink after a hard day at work?

three (3) CELTIC HALLOWEEN THINGS TO HEAR AND SEE

You probably know I have a LOT of Celtic Halloween songs and podcasts. I thought I’d share THREE that you might spook you right.

1. OOOOO! “O’er the Way” is another classic Irish murder ballad. I wrote it originally for the Brobdingnagian Bards CD, Marked By Great Size.

I can’t tell you how many people asked about where I found this “traditional” Irish song. So many in fact, that I I re-released the song on my St Patrick's Day CD. (What do I have?)

You can check it out the Bards version (and maybe buy the album pin) right here.

2. LISTEN to this Halloween Pub Songs episode of Pub Songs & Stories.

You can listen to a Patreon-Only recording of “O’er the Way”. There’s also a whole bunch of dark and twisted songs in the show. The Brobdingnagian Bards version of “Monster Mash” is a total favorite.

Though if that doesn’t get you in the mood perhaps this Celtic Halloween episode of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast will. (Hehe. I snuck in a bonus thing)

3. WATCH this Celtic Halloween Music Concert on Youtube.

For many years, I was doing annual Celtic Halloween shows. I don’t do them as much these days. But make sure you subscribe to my YouTube channel. There's a possibility I might pop in there around lunch time this October 31.

What are your favorite Halloween songs?

Slainte!
