Marc Weeklies: I-Con Fairy Tales

I'm just back from a great weekend in New York at I-Con. I confess I was a little blown away that people knew me. I've played that convention with Brobdingnagian Bards for, what, seven years now, but I never really realized that people knew ME individually. It was a bit of an eye-opening experience to see people come out for my headlining of the Cabaret and all the wonderful responses before, after, and during shows. So thanks to everyone who made this weekend great!

You won't believe it. I'm heading out on tour this summer. I have more details coming in a follow up blog.

Listen to the Song of the Week: “Fairy Tale Waltz” from Heart's Ease

Jamieson Elementary School Grade 7 Irish Orchestra, “Park the Car” by Doug Folkins, “The Butterfly/Miss McLeod's/Pigeon on the Gate” b…, “Toss the Feathers/Cooly's Reel” by Leprechaun Water, “The Dolphin Song” by The Blarnacles, 17 Free St. Patrick's Day MP3s for 2009.

— The Best of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast compilation CD is now on iTunes.

— My Lasik folks in Austin have a new blog. Have I told you how much I have loved having my eyes fixed?

— I received a fantastic introduction at the I-Con Cabaret this weekend by John Sheehan of the No Parking Web Comic with funny references to the Bleeding Nose Bards event from last year.

— Marc Gunn in the News:

“A Lil' Bit of Love” hit #2 on the Blues Charts of SoundClick with no promotion at all!

“St Patrick Never Drank” has a new video from this year's St. Patrick's Day in Dublin. It's now on YouTube.

“Don't Go Drinking With Hobbits” was featured on It's A Frog's Life Acoustic Podcast.

“The Leprechaun” was featured in Guy in a Tie.

My cat version of “Danny Boy” was played on Much to Do About Nothing. Much To Do About Nothing is an eclectic podcast where you will find a mix of podsafe music and odd news views and essays and what ever comes out of my slightly strange brain . All from my vantage point here in beautiful and wild west end of our Nations Capital Ottawa Canada
