Marc Weeklies: Moving in the Right Direction

The fourth week of the Louisiana Renaissance Festival came to an end, and I realized I missed last week's Weeklies. That's because I flew back to Austin to collect the last of the stuff from my apartment. All is now moved to Louisiana. Now I just need to find an apartment in New Orleans, and I'll be set.

Meanwhile, my time at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival is exceptional. From the early morning stage show to the afternoon wine tastings to the end of the day jams, it is so much fun.

Add to it that I have entertainers telling me that I am successfully turning a simple music act into an entertaining stage show, I must admit that makes me excited. I've long wanted to try something new like this. It has a lot of fine tuning, but I feel like it's moving in the right direction. The next step is determining exactly what direction I want to go…

This Week:

— Quote of the Week: “The difference between cats and dogs is that dogs go for the money, get distracted and eat it, but cats head straight for the internet with your credit cards.” -Cara Chapel

— I updated the homepage at MarcGunn.com. I was told the old page loaded too slowly. It is much quicker now. More changes to come.

— CD of the Week: Far and Away by New Minstrel Revue. Made up of former members of the Minstrels of Mayhem with the added bonus of the awesome Craig of Farrington, the album features some beautiful vocal-based folk songs.

Celtic Christmas Music. I'm building a wee website with info about Celtic Christmas music. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Celtic Invasion of Italy – TWO New Openings. Whoa! Way behind on this. I'm hoping to get back to updating it very soon. Meantime, there are two new spots that have opened up for the vacation. So if you were thinking about joining, contact me quick!

— UPCOMING GIGS.
Louisiana Renaissance Festival. I finally scored a show each day during the faire. The shows will be at 10:45am. It's a Celtic Sing-Along. There's just one show a day. The rest of the time, I am performing at the wine and whiskey tastings. I also plan to play at the front gate on Sundays. So look for me!

— Check me out on Myspace, SoundClick, Demand a Show on Eventful, Wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook, Livejournal, Sonicbids, and DeviantArt. And if you'd like a CD…
