Boy, I hate taxes. I haven't looked into it much, but I would SO love to see our country move to a Fair Tax. Sure there might be a lot of problems with it, but it would've saved me from all the work I finally did to complete my 2007 taxes. I wish I did it sooner, because I have too much to do right now. I have a new demo out.
This time last week, I was in the studio with Rich Brotherton recording a new demo which will eventually be used for a new CD. For now, I recorded it so I could start booking solo gigs for next year. I have a lot of plans for the future. There is no time like the present to get started on them, including my Celtic Invasions…
This Week:
— Quote of the Week: “What if the question is not why am I so infrequently the person I really want to be, but why do I so infrequently want to be the person I really am.” -Oriah Mountain Dreamer
— CD of the Week: To the Bottom of the Sea by Voltaire. I think this is my new favorite CD by Voltaire. It's really damned good! Just not readily available. So keep an eye open for it.
— New Demo for Free! The new four song demo is recorded. I still need to finish the album cover, but I decided to do something different. You won't be able to buy the physical CD. You can only get it for free. How's that? Click the link to find out more. I think you will enjoy this new EP.
— What Color Is Your Dragon Featured on Laughing Dog Radio. W00T! I love it when I get featured on websites, played in podcasts or on internet radio. If you have a podcast, website, radio station that you think my music should be played on, drop them an email and make the suggestion.
— My Music Released Under Creative Commons. While you're emailing media people about my music, rememeber to tell them that my music is released under a Creative Commons Noncommercial ShareAlike License. This means, they can play it freely without fear of legal action. You don't even need to ask. Just use my music for your creativity. Make music videos, slide shows, send an MP3 to a friend, spread it around. Best of all, I have over 50 songs available for download which are completely free that you can use. So what are you waiting for. Please use my music to create something new!
— A Long Expected Party. There are just three more gigs scheduled featuring the Brobdingnagian Bards. This one is this weekend. It is extra cool, because you will also get to hear Michelle Hedden perform with us. Michelle is drummer (and more) for Andrew's new band.
— Flynn's Folly. Andrew has a name for his new band. It's called Flynn's Folly. He setup a Myspace page and is currently working on setting up homepage and newsletter and such. There's no music yet, but he'll probably have something new up in October.
— Boudoir Essentials Erotic Boutique. Stephanie was so happy I posted her site in my Weeklies that she sent me a coupon I could share. When you go to the site and use the coupon code MARCGUNN, you will save $5 off orders of $25 or more. It's good through 10/31. This site is not for kids.
— Space Madness at Elysium. One of my last gigs in Austin before I move to New Orleans is at Elysium. Tell a friend.
— Wine and Whiskey Tasting at Louisiana Renaissance Festival. If you want an incredible experience at LARF, sign up now for the Wine and Whiskey Tastings. You will learn a ton about the drinks, PLUS, you'll hear a few songs for me. Right now, this is the only show I have at the festival. However, I am hoping to score more. Time will tell.
— Demand Marc Gunn. If you want to see me perform live, make sure you demand me on eventful. I will go just about anywhere if I can 20 or more people in an area to demand me.
— Celtic Invasion of Italy. I am currently working on making this vacation happen next May. If you want to see Italy with a small intimate group and me, plus, fun Celtic music almost every night, join the Celtic Invasion mailing list.
— Check me out on Myspace, SoundClick, Demand a Show on Eventful, Wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook, Livejournal, Sonicbids, and DeviantArt. And if you'd like a CD…
