Marc’s Musings: Scotland and Coffee with Rie Sheridan Rose,

First, I want to thank everyone who responded to my Black Lives Matter email. It is heartening to see so many people realize that in order to support everyone, you have to start supporting someone. You give me up that the #BlackLivesMatter movement will create actual change.

You are awesome. Thank you!

RIE SHERIDAN ROSE – TODAY ON COFFEE

I love doing themed shows. It struck me a couple weeks ago. I never did a show featuring the songs of Rie Sheridan Rose.

Rie is an steampunk and fantasy author. She is one of my oldest friends from the Renaissance festival circuit. She's the official archivist of the Brobdingnagian Bards. In about 2002, she gave me some lyrics at Excalibur Fantasy Faire. The lyrics touched me. I had to set them to music.

Soul of a Harper” was recorded by Brobdingnagian Bards. It became the name of my first solo CD. It was also the start of a nearly 18 year collaboration where she and I wrote songs together.

Today at 11 AM EDT, I'm pleased to honor her contribution on Coffee with The Celtfather. I will sing a small handful of songs she and I wrote together. You can watch the show on Facebook.

Oh! The Hobbit Drinking Songs sheet music is back in print. You can order it through my store.

WHAT PODCASTS DO YOU LISTEN TO?

What podcasts do you listen to that have guests?

I was thinking it'd be nice to do some podcast interviews. But I'm not sure where to start.

Perhaps you can help. Let me know.

SUMMER IN SCOTLAND

My wife and I are jonesing to travel. The Celtic Invasion of Italy was canceled due to the pandemic. So our minds are dreaming of far away places like… next year's Celtic Invasion of Scotland.

That's what I talk about on the latest Pub Songs Podcast. I sing some Scottish songs. I share a few details about where we are staying next year. (Hint: It's in a castle!)

You're gonna love this episode. Subscribe and listen here.

Thank you for all your support.

Slainte!
