Marc's Musings

Kealkill Stone CircleGreetings Amici,

The last Brobdingnagian Bards show was this past weekend at the Browncoat Ball here in Austin. We had a fun time commemorating nearly ten years of bardic music making. It was a pleasure playing music with Andrew these past ten years, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

However, I'm really excited about what is to come. I have a ton of music ideas, CDs, songs, and trips, that I can't wait to explore once I finish my move to New Orleans in just under two weeks. Then it begins!

MARC'S MUSIC NEWS
Music recording is a little light of recent. I'm spending all my time filtering through years of junk, throwing stuff away, and trying to get rid of things so I can move unhindered.

In fact, I started an eBay page to sell off a ton of things. There are a bunch of exclusive Brobdingnagian Bards CDs, and one of the last few copies of Ichabod's Geography, my first solo CD. You will also find the original song lyrics to “The Ring of Hope”, one of the most-popular songs from Memories of Middle Earth, the last Celtic Cat Pint Glass, a Lord of the Rings Oscar Bags, and a scarf crocheted by me in 1995. You can see the complete list on my eBay page.

The new copies of Real Men Wear Kilts arrived. They are off to CD Baby. Look for them online around November 1st.

I haven't posted anything new to the MarcSongs Podcast, being so busy as I am. (But there is a new Pub Songs Podcast) But I have a few more things planned. Keep an eye open.

Oh, hey! Did you get a free CD?

MARC GUNN LIVE!
Now that I'm officially performing solo, I have several fantastic gigs lined up starting this Friday at Elysium. Help me celebrate a new direction, with a few new Sci Fi/fantasy songs at the second annual Space Madness event!

At LARF, I am currently scheduled only for the wine and whiskey tastings. However, I am still hopeful that I will have at least one show a day featuring Celtic Sing-Alongs. So clear your throat and prepare to sing with me. Oh! And don't forget to sign up at eventful.

NATIONAL FERAL CAT DAY
October 16th is National Feral Cat Day. This annual event is part of Alley Cat Allies' national education campaign. Many advocates and supporters take this opportunity to distribute educational products or host local events, workshops, fundraisers, and special spay and neuter clinic days for stray and feral cats. You can help spread the message about feral cats, why they need a different kind of care, and how communities can band together to stop the killing of cats in their local animal control pounds and shelters on National Feral Cat Day and all year round.

Those interested in my Celtic Invasion of Italy will be disappointed to hear that the vacation is already sold out. It didn't last the week. However, I am still accepting people on the waiting list. Sign up to the newsletter. Then send in the form.

Now, I'm already thinking of another vacation to Prince Edward Island for an Anne of Green Gables vacation with the prerequisite music accompaniment. And Scotland? Get on the mailing list if you'd like to be a part of these amazing vacations.

Drop me a line and say “hi”. Slainte!
