Irish Drinking Songs. That was the name of a cassette I found at Half-Priced Books in Austin, Texas in 1999. It was just sitting there as I was checking out. A half dozen copies sat in the basket next to the register. I picked one up and added it to my order. It changed my life forever.

Those were the very first Irish songs I ever learned. They were the first songs I added to the Brobdingnagian Bards repertoire. They were the inspiration for our fourth album, Songs of Ireland. They helped us book gigs at Irish pubs and Celtic festivals. They eventually guided me to fuse science fiction with Irish drinking songs, thus creating my Sci F'Irish music.
