Marc’s Musings: Watch. Read. Listen. Dream.

I thought I’d simplify the newsletter today with those four things in case you’re short on time. While you're at it, check out these recent pictures.

Entrance to the Great Hall at ALEP for nightly celebrations

WATCH

Coffee with The Celtfather will be a publicly show this Wednesday at 11 AM EST. I’m gonna warm up with some Celtic Halloween songs. But I might take a couple requests.

Mark your calendar. Then Watch the show here.

My friend and I took a driving break to visit Fall Creeks Falls State Park on our way to ALEP last month.

The wind was blowing rather heavily today as I biked to the grocery store. It felt like a front was coming in. Our autumn is about to get a bit colder. But it is not stopping me from getting a bit of exercise like I did at ALEP last month.

Getting outside made such a great difference in my life over the past couple of years. I went running, biking, and hiking. I even go for some nice strolls to help me think.

It helps too. I feel healthier. I’ve never been overweight. But now I now weigh what I did in college. My mind feels more able to the bare the weight of the world. Even though it still gets heavy.

I also feel like I’m more a part of my community. I am starting to recognize people I see on the path each day. There are so many story-filled faces. It’s incredible.

It also helps to have the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast to listen to with each run and adventure.

I don’t get to watch shows and movies like I would like to. But you know, that’s okay. It feels like a better quality of life over all.

How do you unwind each day?

Final night of ALEP had the Brobdingnagian Bards performing on stage for Bilbo Baggins' big day.

LISTEN

On the next Pub Songs & Stories, I’m gonna talk about the “Mingulay Cat Song”.

In the meantime, I’m particularly fond of this episode of Pub Songs & Stories where I talk about “The D Song”, aka “Mingulay Boat Song”.

Subscribe and Give it a listen.

My girl loves to sing!

DREAM

My daughter, Inara, expressed an interest in learning how to play the guitar. So I’m teaching her.

Of course, that requires me to pick it up again and see what I remember. Turns out, I remember quite a bit.

I even wrote my first song on the guitar in 25 years. You can hear it on Patreon if you're a member.

I hope you have a wonderful week filled with magic.

Slainte!
