New Mobile Ready Website and Additional Updates

I've been slowly making a bunch of changes to my homepage and other sites. The most notable new feature is that that now mobile ready. That's right you can now easily view my website on your mobile phone.

My blog Is Now the Homepage

This may seem odd. I haven't done a lot of blogging over the past few months. However, I've come to accept that I am not your normal musician.

Most bands put the latest news and gig dates on their homepages, because they are actively gigging. I chose a different path. I play shows just a couple times a month, more often in the Spring and Fall. I don't go out on tour right now.

My idea of “touring” is blogging and podcasting. That's where you will see or hear me perform. It seems only natural that I put my best foot forward.

New Advertising on Websites

I also added Google advertising to some of my websites. I am not a big fan of websites cluttered with advertisements. However, I have a lot of websites and some need to be redone.Others just need to start earning their way in the world. I'm losing too much money from having too many domains.

To that end, I just updated the American Celtic Music website I started last year. I started this site to promote American Celtic musicians. The advertising will hopefully pay for the bills to keep it running.

You might notice the websites I'm designing are going back to the basics with simple HTML formatting. Not nearly as classy as modern, mobile-ready sites like this one, but it works.

Song Henge Memberships

I am very pleased with the new Song Henge membership site. June is typically a slow month for Song Henge. It's a slower month financially since I don't have any gigs save the Celtic Invasion Vacations which don't offer a lot of profit.

I was really excited to have my first Lifetime member added. I adjusted the levels such that Lifetime members now get free shirts and other swag that will be available for sale in the future.

Celtic Invasion of the Highlands of Scotland

I just received the tentative itinerary from my cousin Kathy for the 2013 Celtic Invasion of the Highlands of Scotland. All I need to do is read it over and decide if it is ready to publish. Check back be the first to sign up.

New Shirts

If you saw my new Firefly shirt design, you'll note that I'm hoping to create some new t-shirts for both my Irish & Celtic Music Podcast as well as for myself. I hope to start raising funds for the Firefly shirt very soon.

I guess that's about all the latest news for now. I'm still pulling things together. Far too many ideas and not enough time. Maybe I should quit whining about it, huh?
