Celtfather Turned Full-Time Daddy

There's nothing like when I open my daughter's bedroom door in the morning.  I pull back the curtains and see her standing at the edge of her crib.  She's bouncing up and down.  Her smile grows bigger and bigger as if to smother the room with radiant love.  It's intoxicating.

My wife just started Grad school two weeks ago.  That means I am a full-time daddy for Kenzie.  It is fun, but also very challenging.  It turns out it's not so easy taking care of children at home.  It's even more difficult when you're trying to run your business and want to accomplish…anything.  I'm exhausted at the end of the day.  Remember that if you're coming home to a stay-at-home parent.

Kenzie is learning all kinds of new things too.  Yesterday morning, before her bottle, she pointed at the diaper bag and cried.  I looked over at it.  There in the side of the bag was a to-go bottle!

She knows what it is.  She knows that she wants it.  She's learning, and it's amazingly beautiful to watch.

Celebrating My 10th Anniversary at DragonCon

I am really excited.  It's just a few more days until one of my biggest shows of the year–DragonCon.  Tens of thousands of people gather in Atlanta, Georgia for this incredible Science Fiction convention.   This is my tenth year performing there.  My, how the time flies!

I'm doing things a wee bit different this year.  I won't be at my table all weekend.  Instead, I will be there twice a day to autograph CDs.  The rest of the time, you will find me performing throughout the con at panels, an awards ceremony, the art show, and at specified show times with the Filk Track.  You can find my complete schedule on my DragonCon page.

Make sure you print it out or bookmark it on your phone if you want to catch up with me at the con.  Follow me on Twitter as well.  I post there a lot more often when I'm traveling.

DragonCon Gunn Runners Wanted

I'm looking for a few fine Gunn Runners at DragonCon this year for a couple promo projects.

First, I want you to hand out my stickers around the convention.  I have show times listed on the back of the stickers.  I will have a ton of stickers at my booth in the Marriott that you can pick up and share at your leisure.

I am also looking for Boothies for both this year and next.  A boothie is someone who sells merch and promotes my shows at my table.  Pandora Celtica is selling my CDs at our combined booths.  So no CD selling is necessary this year.  Instead, I want a few folks to hang out at the table, promote my shows, and hand out stickers.  If you're willing to spend a couple hours doing that, I'll even give you a Celtfather T-Shirt.  Contact me if you're interested.

I hope I will see you in Atlanta this weekend.

New CD Release Date for Don't Go Drinking With Hobbits

You too were ready to hear that the new album would go on sale on September 22nd, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins' birthday.  I wanted that to happen.  Then we got some news that changed my mind.

We took our daughter in for a check up at the beginning of August  Afterward, the doctors decided that it is finally time for Kenzie to have her next surgery.  The date?  September 22nd.  Doh!

I'm fine with changing the date.  The album still needs work.  In fact, I thought I was finished with the album on Monday morning.  But when I played the test master in my car, I realized I had more work to do.

With DragonCon rapidly approaching, I don't have time to finish it this week.  So I will put the final touches on it after the convention.

That said, I decided to push the CD release back one month exactly.  The official CD release date of Don't Go Drinking With Hobbits is now October 22, 2011.  Please help me spread the word!

New Brobdingnagian Bards Podcast

The response on the Brobdingnagian Bards new facebook page is one of excitement.  Are the Brobdingnagian Bards back together?

Not exactly.  Andrew and I are not reforming the band or planning any shows.  However, we did restart our podcast.  We released the first Brobdingnagian Bards Podcast in three years with a hint that we might do more if Nagians are interested.  It looks like they are.  Let us know what you think.  Drop by and give the show a listen.

Incredible Clearance Price on My First CD

My very first album is on sale for the incredible low price of just five bucks.  I'll even autograph it for you. This is the latest sale at my Celtic Music CD Store.  The offer is good until September 8, 2011.

If you already own the album (and don't want a second, third and fourth copy;), check out my other CDs on the website.  Not sure which CD to pick?  I'm getting a lot of awesome feedback from Firefly Drinking Songs.  Maybe that should be the next album on your list?

Thanks as always for your incredible support.  Drop me a line and tell me how things are going.

Slainte!
