Marc's Musings Greetings <:firstname:>, It is nice to be back home. I had a lot of fun on the road, but I'm still trying to recover from eating too much fast food. I'm getting there too. In fact, I'm already starting to lose the weight I put on from the trip. That's something I've learned a lot about recently--eating healthily. As a child, my parents made me sit at the table until I cleaned my plate. So I'm still fighting the instinct I learned to always finish my food even if I'm not hungry. Over the last six months, I've made some good headway against that thought process. I'm eating better food and in smaller quantities. More organic food, cutting out the high fructose corn syrup that is one of the chief reasons for obesity in the U.S. (you can find it just about everything). Consequently, I "feel" better all around. Combined with more exercise than I've done in my life, I have more energy and I'm happier overall. You should give it a try. NEW SONG: Won't You Come With Me I'm kinda excited about this new song. I wrote it late last night. It's a very catchy melody and an *snicker* interesting story. My suggestion Listen to the MP3 FIRST. Then read the lyrics below. UPCOMING GIGS - TENNESSEE? I booked a couple extra gigs over the past week. So there are a few things new happening in Austin at Carousel Lounge (June 6), Things Celtic (Father's Day Solo Show on June 17), and Elysium with Voltaire, a goth satirist (June 30). That last one is extra cool. I think I'm deck myself as a Celtic Goth with black eyeliner and lipstick. hehe! Oh and also on June 17th, after my show, there'll be a brief Beginner Autoharp Course that costs nada to attend. So bring an autoharp and I hope to give you some instructions about the instrument I play. In July, we may be back on tour. This time we're heading to Tennessee. Still working on details, but we are looking for anyone interested in hosting a house concert in the TN area. It may be just a solo show with me, or it may be the complete Brobdingnagian Bards performing. So email me and let me know if you're interested in attending. --- Drop me a line and say, "mreow!" Slainte!
Marc's Lyrics & Poetry Won't You Come With Me? Last night, I was watching Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. I finished after spending hours in front of the computer, I needed a break. So I decided to improvise a song on my autoharp. Once I had a nice melody, I wrote these lyrics. Then I recorded the song on my new Edirol digital recorder. Ah! There's nothing like a good murder ballad. I left my ship with storms on my mind, Hai diddle-dai-dum I met a maid by waterside She set herself down on a rock I took her gently in my arms ---
