St Patrick’s Day is just a few days away. I love the holiday. Obviously, a big part of that is because it’s my birthday.
However, I also have a deep love of Celtic culture and music. It’s why I lead Celtic Invasion Vacations every summer and why I host the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.
I got some feedback this week. A fan of the show lamented that we are losing some great Celtic music. There are quite a few bands on the podcast who disappeared. They no longer sell their music. It’s not available on streaming. It’s gone!
There are many reasons why artists stop making music, but one of the big ones is that it’s not profitable. I’m one of a few musicians making a living with music. I succeed because of my Gunn Runners Club on Patreon. These amazingly generous people support my music lifestyle for just a few dollars a month… as patrons.
I don’t have roam from castle to castle like Turlough O’Carolan, the great Irish harper, did.
Instead, I create blogs, newsletters, podcasts, videos, and occasionally I even write a new song for you.
I create and share the best art and life that I can.
It’s imperfect. But it relies on people like you.
Would you please join the Gunn Runners Club on Patreon?
Sign up for free if you can’t afford anything right now.
But even better, support my craft with a small, monthly financial donation.
As a special bonus, from now until the end of March 2024, everyone who signs up will get an autographed copy of my CD “How America Saved Irish Music.”
Stay a member as long or as short as you like. The album is yours.
If you’re already a patron and you would like a copy, just raise your pledge a wee bit to let me know you want one.
I hope you have a magical, safe and Happy St Patrick’s Day!
Oh! And feel free to post your birthday wishes below. 🙂
